조르조 모로더(Giorgio Moroder, Commendatore OMRI, 1940년 4월 26일~)는 이탈리아의 작곡가, 가수, 음악 프로듀서이다. 1970~80년대에 신시사이저를 통한 혁신적인 연주로 전자 음악, 뉴 웨이브, 하우스, 테크노 음악 등에 큰 영향을 주었다. 특히 디스코의 시대에 도나 서머와의 작품으로 알려졌다. 출처-위키백과
일렉트로닉의 별 다프트펑크와 일렉트로닉의 선구자 조르조의 콜라보...!!! 사실 오늘 포스팅하는 음악인 daft punk - giorgio by moroder를 처음 듣기 전에는 조르조를 몰랐다. 근데 음악이 자꾸 끌려서 계속 듣다가 초반부 독백 피처링이 누구인지 궁금해져서 찾아보니 일렉트로닉의 전설인 조르조 모로더였다. 다프트펑크는 그런 조르조 모로더의 이야기를, 일렉트로닉의 신화를 음악으로 승화시켰다.
음악은 조르조의 과거를 회상하는 내용의 독백으로 시작된다. 조르조의 독백이 끝남과 동시에 신디사이저의 일렉일렉하고 비트감 풍부하며 정통 신디사이저의 맛을 느낄 수 있는 쫄깃한 연주가 시작되면서 듣는 이에게 소름과 전율을 선사한다. 그렇게 한참을 흘러가다가 중간부분에 조르조는 다시 한 번 독백을 통해 음악에 대한 자신의 가치관과 나아갈 길을 제시하며 음악은 정점을 찍는다. 그러니 독백부 가사의 의미를 알고 나면 감상의 효과는 두배~~

그리고, 난 음악을 연주하는 것 뿐만 아니라 음악을 작곡하기도 했다.
At that time, in Germany,

in 1969-70, they already had discotheques
1969년에서 70년대에 말이다. 그들은 이미 디스코텍 노래를 하고 있었다.
So I would take my car and go to a discotheque,

I think I had about 7-8 songs.

so we put a click on the 24 track
그래서 우린 24개의 트랙에 그 소리를 넣었다.
which was then synced to the moog modular.
모그 모듈러로 싱크를 맞추는 것 말이다.
I knew that it could be a sound of the future
난 이게 비로소 미래를 표현할 사운드가 된다는 것을 깨달았다.
but I didn't realize how much impact it would be.
하지만 이것이 가져다 줄 영향력이 얼마나 될지, 나는 깨닫지 못했다.

Frengers에 수록된 마지막 곡이며 9분이라는 다소 긴 길이의 곡이다. 초반에 보컬이 좀 노래를 부르는가 싶더니 3분 쯤 부터는 끝나는 순간까지 노래 없이 악기들의 연주만으로 전개된다. 가사 내용을 보면 외로움, 고독에 대해 노래하는데에 반해 제목은 comforting sounds인 것은 주목할 만 하다. 네가 만드는 comforting sounds에도 나는 더 이상 괜찮지 않다, 고독 외에는 어떤 것도 순수하지 않다....... 뭐 아무튼 제목처럼 힐링되는 편안한 음악은 아닌 것이다.

비디오는 이게 정식 뮤비인지는 잘 모르겠지만 외로운 노인의 모습과 잘 어울리는 곡인 것 같다.
사실 이 블로그 이름인 Kick & Push는 작년 여름에 에이랜드 가서 산 티셔츠에 써진 문구에서 따온 것이었다. 그때는 이 문구가 스케이트보드랑 관련이 있는 걸 모르고 그냥 마음에 들어서 사용했던 건데 오늘 로닌에서 아이쇼ㅏ핑하다가 이 음악이 나오길래 '오오. 킥푸시...!?' 하고 집에 와서 혹시나 하고 바로 찾아봤더니 역시나 보드타는 영상이 뮤비인 음악이었다..... 루페 피아스코는 엄청난 스케이트빠라고 한다. 들어보니 꽤 중독성있는 음악이다. 그리고 Kick, Push, Kick, Push 할 때 좀 좋은거 같다. 가사도 verse2까지는 직접 해석해봤는데 스토리텔링도 재밌다.

MIKA의 3집 앨범 The Origin Of Love에 수록된 Heroes. 저번에 포스팅한 Make You Happy 또한 같은 앨범에 수록됬던 곡이다. 3집 앨범엔 정말 좋은 곡들이 많다.
영화 Spider Man에서 주인공인 피터는 유전자 변형 거미에게 물려 자신의 의지와는 상관없이 초능력을 가지게 된다. 얼떨결에 스파이더맨이 된 피터는 영웅적인 행동으로 사람들에게 사랑받게 되지만 사랑, 가족, 친구를 잃고 바닥 끝까지 떨어지기도 한다.
Heroes는 영웅의 화려하고 숭고한 겉모습 뒤에 숨겨진 어둡고 슬픈 진실을 이야기한다. 사람들은 영웅에게 끝없는 희생을 요구하며 그들이 늙어 약해지는 순간 잊어버린다. 영웅은 영원히 사랑받으려면 늙기 전에 영광스럽게 죽어야 한다. 악몽에 시달리며 차라리 죽는게 더 나을 거라고 생각한다.
