계란밥만 맨날 먹으니까 겁나 부데낀다

암튼 오늘도 역시나 다프트펑크의 음악인 Instant Crush. 이거 들을 때마다 나중에 언젠가 포스팅해야지! 라고 생각하던 곡이다. 6집 RAM에 수록되어있는 곡이며 개인적으로 6집의 곡 중에 제일 좋아하는 곡이다. The Strokes의 보컬 Julian Casablancas가 피쳐링한 곡인데 살살 녹는 목소리로 듣는 사람 귀를 호강시켜준다. 일반적인 다펑의 펑키한 곡들과는 좀 다른 느낌의 음악인데 오히려 Discovery의 Something About Us와 비슷하다. 난 이런게 좋다. 다펑이 이런 곡들좀 많이 만들어줬으면 좋겠다. 헿

가사는 사랑하지 못하고 친구가 되어야한다는 뭐 그런 내용. 가사가 너무 길고 해석도 없는거같아서 해석은 패스-

중간고사 끝! 오랜만에 음악리뷰 ㄱㄱ

오늘 포스팅할 음악은 두 곡으로, 첫번째 곡은 노르웨이 출신의 일렉트로닉 듀오 Royksopp의 Junior에 수록된 Silver Cruiser이고 두번째 곡은 누구나 알고 있는 Daft Punk의 Random Access Memories에 수록된 Contact이다. 곡을 소개하기 전에 잡설을 조금 늘어놓으려고 하는데 개소리니까 걍 무시해도 된다.

Royksopp의 Silver Cruiser은 한마디로 '끝이 없는 우주를 순항하는 희고 거대한 우주선이 등장하는 한 편의 영화' 라고 말하고 싶다. 어떤 네이버 블로거가 리뷰한 청취법을 보다가 매우매우매우 공감한 적이 있다.

'인간의 감정이 가장 센티멘탈해진다는 새벽 시간대에,

내 숨소리 외엔 아무 소리도 나지 않는 곳에서 모든 조명을 죽인 후에,

침대에 편히 누워서 눈을 감고 두 손 모아 가슴 위에 올려두고,

편안하게 머리 속에 우주를 그려넣고,

나는 저 멀리 보이는 하늘 너머 우주를 유영하고 있는 모습을 상상하며

플레이 버튼을 누른다.'

Daft Punk의 Contact는 도입부에서 사용된 실제 우주비행사의 녹취록이 인상적인 곡이다. 1972년 미국의 아폴로 17호 미션에서 Cernan이라는 조종사가 달에 착륙하여 지구를 바라보며 교신하는 내용이라고 한다.

"Hey Bob, I’m looking at what Jack was talking about and it’s definitely not a particle that’s nearby.
"이봐 밥, 잭이 말한 걸 보고 있는데, 이건 확실히 가까이 있는 물체는 아니야.
It is a bright object and it’s obviously rotating because it’s flashing, it’s way out in the distance,
빛나는 물체인데 반짝이는걸로 봐서 회전하는게 분명하고, 저 멀리에서
certainly rotating in a very rhythmic fashion because the flashes come around almost on time.
빛이 반짝이는게 일정한걸로 봐서 상당히 리드믹하게 회전하는걸로 보여.
As we look back at the earth it’s up at about 11 o’clock,
지구를 내려다 보는 현재 11시 방향에 떠있고,
about maybe ten or twelve diame…Earth diameters.
지름은 10 아니면 12..지구반지름 정도 되어보이고
I don’t know whether that does you any good, but there’s something out there."
도움이 되는지는 모르겠지만, 저 너머에 뭔가가 있다는건 확실해."


무엇인가 미지와의 접촉의 긴장감 혹은 우주의 경이로움과 그것을 직면한 인간의 감동이 느껴지는 부분이 아닐 수 없다. 참고로 두 영상 모두 정식 뮤직비디오가 아니라 개인이 만든 영상이다. Contact 영상은 게임 트레일러를 편집한 영상인데 진짜 잘 만들었다고 생각된다. 특히 마지막에 다 흡수되다가 쾅!하며 폭발하는 장면과 깨알같은 미토콘드리아 ㅋㅋㅋ 마지막 장면은 어디서 많이 봤던 거라고 생각했는데 알고보니 우주전쟁 마지막 장면이었다.

두 곡이 같은 우주의 경이로움을 각각 어떻게 그려내고 있는지 직접 감상해보길...
